SSC JE Syllabus 2023: The Staff Selection Commission JE Recruitment: While preparing for this exam, you need to thoroughly go through the SSC JE Syllabus 2023. For the preparations of Paper 1, you must study General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical). Similarly, for the second paper, you need to study in-depth the General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) subject. SSC JE Syllabus for Paper 1 2023

Paper 1 is the first examination that the candidate has to appear for in the SSC JE recruitment process. In SSC JE Paper 1 you will have to prepare for three subjects: General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Engineering. For every candidate, General Awareness and General Intelligence & Reasoning will be common and for the General Engineering subject, the candidate will have an option as per the students’ preference.

SSC JE Syllabus – Paper 1:

The SSC JE General Intelligence and Reasoning section of Paper 1 has 50 questions. And SSC JE General Awareness section also includes 50 objective-type questions. Following is the SSC JE Syllabus for Paper 1.

SSC JE Syllabus for Paper 1 General Engineering Section

This section in Paper 1 consists of 100 objections and that depends on the stream chosen by the candidate amongst Civil/ Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. We have provided the SSC JE Syllabus for General Engineering below.

Part B o   Electrical Engineering: Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors, and single-phase induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.
Part C o   Mechanical Engineering: Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials, Properties of Pure Substances, 1st Law of Thermodynamics, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Air standard Cycles for IC Engines, IC Engine Performance, IC Engines Combustion, IC Engine Cooling & Lubrication, Rankine cycle of System, Boilers, Classification, Specification, Fitting & Accessories, Air Compressors & their cycles, Refrigeration cycles, Principle of Refrigeration Plant, Nozzles & Steam Turbines. Properties & Classification of Fluids, Fluid Statics, Measurement of Fluid Pressure, Fluid kinematics, Dynamics of Ideal fluids, Measurement of Flow rate, basic principles, Hydraulic Turbines, Centrifugal Pumps, and Classification of steel.

 

SSC JE Syllabus for Paper 2:

There are three parts in SSC JE Paper 2 Syllabus – Part A (Civil Engineering), Part B (Electrical Engineering), and Part C (Mechanical Engineering). The eligibility criteria for SSC JE exam consists of the SSC JE Educational Qualification and Age Limit. To be eligible for SSC JE Exam, a candidate needs to fulfill basic requisites including education qualification and age limit, which have been discussed below:

SSC JE Selection Process 2023 – Stages:

The SSC JE selection process is a three-stage process. Check the table for the SSC JE selection process stages

SSC JE Selection Process – SSC JE paper 1

The first stage of the SSC JE selection process has one paper having three sections. It is conducted online mode by the exam conducting authorities. SSC JE Paper 1 is 200 marks with a negative marking. Questions in this paper are asked from subjects like – general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, and general engineering for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Candidates need to qualify for the SSC JE paper 1 cutoff to move forward in the SSC JE selection process. Check the tables below for the SSC JE exam pattern and marking scheme.

SSC JE Selection Process 2023 – SSC JE paper 2

The second stage of the SSC JE selection process also has one paper. It is conducted in offline mode by the Staff Selection Commission. SSC JE Paper 2 is 300 marks with no negative marking. The duration of the JE paper is 2 hours. Questions in this paper are asked from subjects like – civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Candidates have to appear for the paper in whichever stream they have applied for. Candidates must qualify for the SSC JE paper 2 cutoff marks to be eligible for the SSC JE selection process document verification stage. SSC JE Selection Process 2023 – Document verification

Candidates qualifying for the SSC JE paper 1 and 2 cutoff marks are eligible to appear for the SSC Junior Engineer document verification stage. At this stage of the SSC JE selection, process candidates will have to furnish all the relevant documents as asked by the authorities. The list of documents that might need to be submitted to the Commission for verification is as follows:

  • 10th mark sheet and certificate
  • 12th mark sheet and certificate
  • Graduation final mark sheet
  • Graduation degree certificate
  • Transfer certificate
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD certificate (if applicable), etc.
