MPPSC Exam Pattern 2023-24

The MPPSC 2022-23 Exam will be conducted in three stages. The MPPSC Exam Pattern for all three stages is in the table below:

Under the Prelims examination, there are two main papers, namely:

  • General Studies and General Aptitude Test. Both are objective (MCQs) types of paper.
  • Both papers consist of 200 marks each, and candidates are allotted 120 minutes or 2 hours for each paper.
  • There will be no negative marking in MPPSC (State Service Exam) Prelims exam for wrong answers.

Under the MPPSC Mains Mains examination, there are five main papers, namely:

  • General Studies I
  • General Studies II
  • General Studies III
  • General Studies IV
  • Hindi
  • Hindi Essay

While the first three papers on General Studies consist of 300 marks each, the fourth General Studies paper consists of 200 marks. Additionally, the Hindi paper also consists of 200 marks, while the Hindi essay paper is allotted a maximum of 100 marks. Furthermore, all the papers, except the one on Hindi Essays, are allotted 180 minutes, or 3 hours to complete. Candidates are given 120 minutes, or 2 hours to complete the Hindi Essay paper.

MPPSC Syllabus 2023-24

The MPPSC syllabus consists of three stages which are preliminary, Mains and Interview. The Preliminary exam is an objective-based exam whereas the mains is a written test which is then allowed by the Interview. Stage 1- MPPSC Prelims Syllabus

  • Major features, Events, and their administrative, Social and Economical Systems of Ancient and Medieval India.

3) Geography of Madhya Pradesh
  • Forest, Forest Produce, Wildlife, Rivers, Mountains, and Mountain ranges of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Transport in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Major Irrigation and Electrical Projects in Madhya Pradesh.

4) Geography of World and India
  • Physical Geography:- Physical features and Natural regions.
  • Natural Resources:- Forest, Mineral resources, Water, Agriculture, Wildlife, National Parks/ Sanctuaries/Safari.
  • Social Geography:- Population related Demography (Population growth, Age, Sex ratio, Literacy)

Please Note – The Hindi Language Comprehension skill of Class X level will be tested via passages in the Hindi language only. There will be no English translation for the same in the question paper.

Stage 2- MPPSC Mains Syllabus 2024

The Madhya Pradesh Public service Commission’s main exams consist of a total of 6 papers. Refer to the given table below for a detailed syllabus

  • Magnet:- Properties, preparation, and uses of artificial magnet Light:- Reflection, Refraction, Mirrors and Lenses, Image Formation, Heat: Measuring Temperature, Thermometers, Transformation of Heat.

  • Element, Compound, and Mixture:- Definition, Chemical Symbols, Properties, Availability on the Earth.
  • Material:- Metals and Non-Metals, Periodic Table, and Periodicity.
  • Atom, Atomic Structure, Valancy, Bonding, Nuclear Fusion, and Fission.

  • Numbers and its type, Methods of Unit Measurement, Equations and Factors, Profit loss, Percentage, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio Proportion.

Unit 6

Stage 3- MPPSC Interview Syllabus 2024

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Exam will release a final merit list based on the marks of the mains exam and Interview.

  • The third and final stage of the MPPSC exam is the Interview which is basically a personality test.
  • The Interview stage of the MPPSC State Service Exam comprises a total of 175 marks.
  • There is no syllabus for it hence the candidates are suggested to conduct as many mock sessions with friends and colleagues to ace the test.
  • It is basically conducted to understand the soft skills of the candidate.
